TPN Presents: Michael Bolton - Let's talk about Charisma
Optimation House 1
If you look into books and articles and conference presentations on testing, you'll see and hear a lot about capability and functionality. Sometimes you'll notice talk about performance or security. You'll probably observe a good deal less about other parafunctional aspects of quality, like usability, compatibility, or installability. But here's something you'll rarely hear about: charisma.
This idea (by that name, at least) came to the context-driven testing community through Rikard Edgren in his Little Black Book of Software Testing in 2011. Although we might not know how to design a product, through our emotional reactions, we can often identify when there's a problem with a product's charisma.
Join Michael Bolton for an interactive inquiry into what we find appealing-and not so appealing-about software, and how we can use those ideas to sharpen our evaluations of the products we test.
The presentation will be followed by a networking session with drinks and nibbles provided by Assurity.
