In a year like no other in living memory what does the landscape look like now in the world of Tech Recruitment?
Join ITP Board Member and KPMG Management Consultant Blair Morgan in a "virtual sofa" discussion with Paul O'Donovan and Clare O'Sullivan from OCG Consulting Ltd to look at what those seeking employment in the Tech Sector in 2020 should be aware of and accompanying tips for how best to position yourself in the Tech Sector market.
This live webinar is brought to you by ITP's Christchurch Branch and is the first of a series of live webinars brought to you by ITP's branch network.
The team will cover:
- Cover letter and CV's - the positives and pitfalls relating to Tech sector applications
- Interview skills: how to sell yourself
- Presenting and optimising transferable skills for an employer for those entering the Tech sector
- What are the soft skills that employers look for?
The discussion will particularly suit students, those new to, or moving to, New Zealand, career change seekers, graduates and, of course, employers.
The webinar will also feature lots of live Q&A - so bring your own questions and we'll put them to the panel.
Paul has been recruiting technology roles in the Christchurch market for the past 10 years.
It has been an interesting ride, dealing with the effects of the Christchurch earthquakes on the market.
Prior to arriving in New Zealand in 2010, Paul was recruiting technology roles in the UK, during a time when the Global Financial Crisis changed the world economy. Paul is passionate about giving people the tools to maximize their chances of winning their dream role and hopes to be able to share that knowledge during this session.
Clare began her recruitment career in London in 1998 before returning to NZ where she continued working as a Senior Consultant in Technology and Project Services. Clare has managed teams across Technology, Accounting & Finance and Financial Services.
She recruits all levels of roles from Junior / Entry level through to Senior Management and Strategy. Given Clare's tenure in the industry she is well versed to provide advice to those looking for work and surviving through difficult times. She has recruited through recessions previously and can advise knowledgeably on strategies to get through.
Following leadership roles with IRD, Effectus Ltd, NZ Treasury and office of the Clerk of the NZ Parliament, Blair is now Associate Director of KPMG in Christchurch. The Associate Director works with Advisory leadership to help develop and implement the strategic goals of the division including a lead role in building the practice and operational responsibility for the successful delivery of engagements, and staff and client relationships.
Blair is also on the National Board of ITP, having also served on both the Wellington and Christchurch branch committees.
