Christchurch Justice & Emergency Services Precinct (CJESP)

The precinct was completed at the end of 2017 and was purpose built to bring together all justice and emergency services.  It is the largest multi-agency government co-location project in New Zealands History.

Information will be presented about what CJESP has and they got to where they are now, followed by a focus on the Emergency Operations Centre

  • Introductory information about the precinct agencies, roles and resilience.
  • History of the ICT workstream during the build project; the objectives, choices and hurdles.
  • Overview of some shared ICT technologies; Network, server/radio rooms, AV, room booking.
  • EOC; how ICT fits into emergency response.

There will be an opportunity to network afterwards at a nearby venue.

About The Speaker

Over twenty years in IT across several different sectors, which took me around the world. Initially working up through software houses, but since settling in NZ I've moved to the recipient side of the fence - IT Management.

My involvement in the Justice Precinct started in 2012 as the IT representative for Environment Canterbury, with the role of moving Canterbury Civil Defence into the new facility. After rehousing Civil Defence, I moved to working in the Ministry of Justice property group to remain in the precinct. My current focus in on building infrastructure and systems, and business continuity of the site.
