Every day, everyone of us is selling, we just may not realise we are doing it.
Whether I am trying to convince my wife to go to my selection of a movie, or to my 25 year old son to not stay too late in town (nothing good happens after 1am afterall…) we are all selling [something] all the time.
Most of us will try immediate persuasion or stating our perspective and why it's a good idea and why we are right, but "TELLING ISN'T SELLING" and it only occasionally works.
For professionals in business, we need to sell to our bosses, our management teams, our peers and our employees, and for some of us, we need to sell to prospects or existing customers. So, how should we approach "the sale".
Well, it has something to do with the fact we have two ears, and one mouth.
Miles will talk about how to approach any "sales" situation, whether its for a promotion, a budget increase, getting an employee to do something you need them to do ( and you know a direct instruction wont work that well) or actually selling your company's solutions.
The principles are much the same…

About The Speaker
Miles Valentine has an entrepreneurial background having founded, run and exited a number of companies during his career.
In all of these ventures he lived with the belief "Quality Revenue fixes everything".
After selling Telephone Technology to Ubix in 1993, Miles founded Zeacom in 1994 and 18 years later as CEO, sold it to a Canadian public company, Enghouse. At that time Zeacom had revenue of NZD40+m.
From the early days selling telephone systems (after Telecom deregulated) when he became a Bryan Tracy "devotee", to more recent times as a Sales Leadership mentor and facilitator with Sales Syndicate and Indicator, Miles has focused on driving sales teams to achieve more.
Miles works exclusively in the B2B selling space, advising companies and sales teams how to better engage and be more effective in their sales and revenue growth.
