First Announcement and Call for Papers

The Dutch Computer Society (Nederlands Genootschap voor Informatica, NGI) and the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP), in cooperation with a large number of partners, are organizing a unique conference on ICT in the automotive industry, transport and logistics. The unique element of this event is the combination of a scientific conference with strictly peer reviewed high quality research work, a business-style event with application oriented and case presentations and a policy oriented meeting that raises important issues to be taken care of by the research community, by the industry and by politicians.

The conference will take place during the AutoRAI which is a consumer exhibition for the automotive industry. Being at the same venue at the same time offers a great opportunity to discuss the latest developments since the automotive industry will be widely present.

Conference topics

Papers offering research contributions as well as papers providing practical cases, in any aspect of automotive, transport and logistics are solicited for submission to the conference. Papers will be selected on criteria such as novelty, soundness and technical quality and interest to the participants. Papers may present topics including but not limited to:

• (Interactive) Car navigation
• Road pricing (pay-as-you-drive)
• Reconstruction of traffic accidents
• Embedded car software
• Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)
• Digital manufacturing
• Cars on the internet and privacy
• New applications
• Use of smart materials
• Innovative green approaches
• Digital product creation
• Cooperative systems
• Computer assisted adaptive driving
• CO2 reduction in car production / while driving
• OEM / SMB paperless interaction

Instructions for paper submission

Papers must not substantially overlap with papers that have been published or are simultaneously submitted to a journal or another conference with proceedings. Papers must be written in English; they should be at most 16 pages in total, including bibliography and well-marked appendices. Papers should be intelligible without appendices, if any.

At least one author of each accepted paper must register to the conference and present the paper. Accepted papers will be published by Springer as edited post-conference proceedings in the IFIP AICT (Advances in Information and Communication Technology) Series. Submitted and accepted papers must follow the publisher’s guidelines for the IFIP AICT Series (www.springer.com/series/6102, Author templates, Manuscript preparation in Word).

All papers must be submitted in electronic form through the web in the EasyChair system via http://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=iatl2011  by the deadline indicated below. Papers submitted after this deadline will be discarded without review.
